How to measure (60 seconds)
- Pick your size: choose a width that matches your wall span and TV/media layout.
- Confirm framed opening (cutout): frame to the “Framing opening / cutout” values in the fit table.
- Depth plan: the framed cavity depth is 11 5/8" (minimum). If you install with side glass (corner/bay), plan for the manufacturer’s depth requirements.
- Choose configuration: Bold supports Front, Left Corner, Right Corner, or Bay (3-sided) using included side glass/trim.
- Power plan: run a proper circuit for 120V or 240V (hardwire). Dedicated circuit is recommended.
Clearance note
Keep combustibles at least 36" from the front of the fireplace. For outdoor installs, units are rated for outdoor use when installed under a shelter/overhang (not exposed directly to rain).
Fit requirements table (hard constraints)
Use the framing opening (cutout) as the source of truth. The “Fireplace actual” dimensions below reflect a standard Front install. All sizes support 120V or 240V hardwire with Comfort$aver heating.

Installation selector (configuration + location)
Bold lets you choose the viewing configuration at install: Front, Left Corner, Right Corner, or Bay (3-sided). All sizes are also certified for outdoor use when installed under a shelter.
Front view: simplest planning
Frame to the cutout dimensions in the table, then install as a front-facing linear fireplace. This is the most common choice for media walls and long feature walls.
Viewing height advantage
IgniteXL Bold uses a taller viewing window (about 16" high), so it reads more “architectural” than slim linear units at the same width.
Electrical: 120V (≈5,118 BTU) or 240V (≈8,530 BTU), hardwire. Dedicated circuit recommended.
Corner / Bay: choose your glass kit at install
Use the included side glass and trim to set the fireplace as Left Corner, Right Corner, or Bay (3-sided). This creates a premium “see-through” look from multiple angles—ideal for open concept layouts.
Depth planning matters
Corner/Bay configurations change how the unit interacts with the wall return(s). Follow the manufacturer’s installation diagrams for depth and finishing details before framing.
Tip: Mounting height impacts flame visibility—many designers place the bottom of the unit between 5" and 40" from the floor for best viewing.
Outdoor-rated (under cover)
All Bold sizes are certified for outdoor use when installed under a shelter/overhang. Plan a protected location and follow outdoor electrical best practices (GFCI/AFCI as required by local code).
Keep the front zone clear
Maintain 36" clearance from the front to furniture, drapes, and other combustibles—especially important for covered patios with seating close to the feature wall.
Electrical: hardwire only. Confirm breaker/wire sizing and outdoor-rated junction requirements with a qualified electrician.
