Are fiberglass planters durable?

Very. Fiberglass is one of the toughest materials you can put outside. It won't rot, rust, chip, or crack like terracotta and concrete, it shrugs off full sun and hard freezes, and a quality fiberglass planter lasts 10 to 15+ years outdoors. It's also a fraction of the weight of stone, so even large pieces stay movable.

Will my planter crack or fade outdoors in winter?

Not the materials we focus on. Fiberglass and fiberstone are frost-resistant and UV-stable, so they don't crack in a freeze or fade in strong sun the way ceramic, terracotta, and cheap resin do. (Ceramic and concrete are the most likely to crack, because they absorb water that then expands as it freezes.) With any planter, good drainage is the key, so water never pools and freezes inside.

What makes a planter frost-proof?

Two things. First, a material that doesn't soak up water and expand when it freezes, like fiberglass, fiberstone, and quality composite. Second, proper drainage so water escapes instead of turning to ice inside the wall. Porous materials like terracotta and unsealed concrete crack precisely because they absorb that water.

Do self-watering planters actually work?

Yes. A reservoir in the base holds water, and the soil wicks up moisture as the plant needs it, so the plant stays evenly hydrated and you water far less often. They're ideal for travel, hot patios, and busy schedules, and you simply top up the reservoir every week or two. (A few plants that like to dry out fully between waterings do better in a standard planter.)

What size planter do I need?

A good rule of thumb: choose a planter 2 to 4 inches wider than the plant's current pot, and size up for trees and fast growers. Every product page lists exact inside and outside dimensions, so you can plan against your space before you buy.

What's the difference between fiberstone and fiberglass?

Both are frost-resistant and built to live outdoors. Fiberglass is the lightest and most versatile, ideal for large or tall pieces and any finish. Fiberstone (fiberglass reinforced with crushed stone) gives you the look and presence of real stone at a fraction of concrete's weight. Choose fiberglass for movability, fiberstone for a substantial, stone-like statement.

How do large planters ship?

Free across the contiguous US. Most planters ship by UPS or FedEx, and oversized pieces ship by freight with lift-gate delivery at no extra charge. You'll see the shipping method and lead time on each product page.

What's your return policy?

If a planter arrives damaged or simply isn't right for your space, contact us within 30 days and we'll arrange a replacement or refund. Items should be unused and in their original packaging. For oversized freight pieces, we'll coordinate the return details with you directly.
