How to measure (60 seconds)
- Pick your size: 46" (compact) vs 66" (most common) vs 86" (statement wall).
- Frame the opening: match the Cutout (min.) dimensions in the fit table (W×H×D).
- Finish opening: confirm your finished drywall opening matches the Drywall opening values.
- Depth: plan for a 12" deep framed cavity (unit depth is 11 7/8").
- Airflow: do not seal the underside—provide an opening so air can reach the bottom of the unit (per manufacturer drawing).
- Water plan: choose manual refills (water reservoir) or continuous operation by connecting to a main water line.
- Power plan: hardwire 120V or 240V; a dedicated, properly fused 15A circuit is recommended for either voltage.
Safety note (why Opti-myst is different)
Opti-myst uses cool water mist + lighting to create a 3D flame effect that is safe to touch. Keep typical clearance from combustibles in front of the appliance and follow all manufacturer installation instructions for finishing, airflow, and service access.
Fit requirements table (hard constraints)
“Cutout (min.)” is the framed opening. “Drywall opening” is the finished face opening. All models are designed for a built-in recessed install and require airflow to the underside. Electrical is hardwire by default; an optional plug kit is referenced by the manufacturer for 120V (select models).

Installation type selector
Choose your water-supply setup to see the right planning notes (manual refills vs continuous operation).
Manual refills: simplest install
You can run the Opti-myst effect using the internal water reservoir. Plan for easy service access to refill and maintain the unit. For frequent daily use, the manufacturer notes that manual filling is not recommended—consider a continuous water connection instead.
Airflow + framing reminder
Frame to the Cutout (min.) dimensions and do not block airflow to the underside of the unit. Finish to the Drywall opening dimensions for a clean built-in look.
Electrical: hardwire 120V or 240V. Dedicated, properly fused 15A circuit recommended.
Continuous operation: connect to a main water line
The Opti-myst Linear can be connected to a household water supply for continuous operation so you don’t have to refill the reservoir. This is ideal for commercial spaces, showpiece feature walls, or frequent daily use.
Plan service + shutoff access
Provide access to the water connection and a shutoff, and follow the manufacturer’s plumbing guidance and local code requirements.
Electrical: hardwire 120V or 240V. Dedicated, properly fused 15A circuit recommended.
Size-by-size guidance (recommendations)
Use the fit table above as the source of truth for openings. The notes below help you choose a size faster based on room scale and typical use.
46" model
OLF46-AM
Best for: Bedrooms, home offices, smaller apartments, or luxury bathrooms.
Why: This size brings premium 3D vapor flames to intimate spaces where a larger linear unit won’t fit. It creates a high-end focal point while staying comfortable for “safe-to-touch” zones near beds, desks, or seating.
Viewing area: 44 1/4" W × 14 3/8" H
Cutout (min.): 48" W × 31 3/4" H × 12" D
Drywall opening: 48 7/8" W × 31 1/2" H
66" model
OLF66-AM
Best for: Standard living rooms, primary suites, and dining areas.
Why: This is the versatile “standard” residential size. It pairs naturally under common 55"–65" TVs and delivers a substantial 3D vapor flame presence while fitting a typical 12" deep wall cavity.
Viewing area: 64 1/4" W × 14 3/8" H
Cutout (min.): 68" W × 31 3/4" H × 12" D
Drywall opening: 68 7/8" W × 31 1/2" H
86" model
OLF86-AM
Best for: Grand rooms, commercial lobbies, restaurants, and expansive feature walls.
Why: Built for dramatic architectural impact, the 86" model creates a long, continuous 3D vapor flame display that reads clearly from across large spaces—ideal when a smaller unit would look undersized.
Viewing area: 84 1/4" W × 14 3/8" H
Cutout (min.): 88" W × 31 3/4" H × 12" D
Drywall opening: 88 7/8" W × 31 1/2" H
Why choose Opti-myst?
Unmatched realism: 3D flames + “smoke” created with water vapor and lighting.
Safe to touch: cool mist flames—ideal for homes with kids/pets and public spaces.
Smart heating: Comfort$aver™ supplemental heat (output varies by model/voltage).
Continuous operation: optional main water line connection reduces refills.
Total control: app/remote/control panel options (varies by configuration).
