How to measure (60 seconds)
- Pick your size: 24" (compact), 30" (standard bedroom/small living), 36" (full-size), 36" Portrait (taller focal point), or 42" (largest).
- Confirm depth: plan for at least 12 1/8" cavity depth for the firebox.
- Frame the opening: build your rough opening to the “Framed opening / cutout” values in the fit table (always verify against the manufacturer spec for your exact model).
- Finish choice: Weathered Concrete reads modern/industrial; Herringbone reads classic masonry/high-end.
- Power plan: plan a 120V circuit for the fan-forced heater and flame effect (dedicated recommended to avoid nuisance trips).
Clearance note
Keep combustibles away from the heater discharge/front of the unit and follow the manufacturer’s installation manual for your exact model, demonstrating and local electrical code requirements.
Fit requirements table (hard constraints)
Dimensions below focus on overall footprint and framing planning. Always verify your exact model’s manual/spec sheet before framing or wiring.
| Size | Models (HB / WC) | Viewing area (W×H) | Firebox actual (W×H×D) | Framed opening / cutout (W×H×D) | Heat (standard) | Heat (optional) | Power + breaker | Link |

New construction: frame, then finish
Frame your opening for your selected size, ensure the cavity depth supports 12 1/8" minimum, then finish the surround (tile/stone/drywall) for a clean built-in look.
Finish choice: HB vs WC
Weathered Concrete reads clean and modern; Herringbone reads classic masonry and upscale. Choose based on the room’s trim and materials.
Electrical: plan a 120V circuit (dedicated recommended). Confirm local code requirements with a qualified electrician.
Existing opening: confirm depth and airflow
Confirm the existing cavity has enough depth for the firebox (12 1/8" minimum) and that your surround will not block heater discharge or required airflow per the manufacturer instructions.
Size up if the opening is wide
If you have a large existing opening, the 36" or 42" often looks most proportional. Use the fit table to avoid leaving large gaps around the unit.
Electrical: verify the available circuit and outlet location (if applicable). Dedicated is recommended to avoid nuisance trips.
Size-by-size guidance (recommendations)
Use the fit table above for measurements; use the notes below to choose the right look and scale.
24" models
REV24-WC / REV24-HB
Best for: Smaller rooms, apartments, or as a replacement for small existing masonry fireplaces.
Why: These models provide the full Revillusion flame technology in a compact footprint, making them ideal for spaces where wall depth or width is limited.
Actual: 24 1/4" W × 22 7/8" H × 12 1/8" D
30" models
REV30-WC / REV30-HB
Best for: Standard-sized bedrooms or smaller living areas.
Why: The 30" models offer a larger viewing experience than the 24" while still fitting into relatively narrow wall sections. Weathered Concrete reads modern/industrial; Herringbone reads classic masonry.
Actual: 31 1/4" W × 26 5/8" H × 12 1/8" D
36" models
REV36-WC / REV36-HB
Best for: Traditional living rooms and primary gathering spaces.
Why: This is a standard “full-size” fireplace dimension that mimics the proportions of a typical wood-burning fireplace and gives a strong focal-point presence.
Actual: 37 1/4" W × 26 5/8" H × 12 1/8" D
36" Portrait models
REV36P-WC
Best for: Grand rooms with high ceilings or as a dramatic focal point.
Why: The Portrait is significantly taller than the standard 36". The extra height supports a more vertical flame presentation and a larger full-depth perspective.
Actual: 37 1/4" W × 31 1/8" H × 12 1/8" D
42" models
REV42-WC / REV42-HB
Best for: Large, open-concept spaces and luxury installations.
Why: The largest built-in option provides the most expansive presence for wide feature walls. It’s the best choice when a smaller unit would feel undersized.
Actual: 43 1/4" W × 31 1/8" H × 12 1/8" D
