Modern Flames Landscape Pro Multi Size Guide: 44"–120"

Six sizes from 44" to 120". Covers framing dimensions, cutout requirements, installation types, electrical requirements, safety clearances, and outdoor use conditions — everything needed to plan and verify installation before ordering.

📋

Overview

What this guide covers

The Landscape Pro Multi (LPM series) is available in six sizes: 44", 56", 68", 80", 96", and 120". All six models share the same height, depth, and electrical specifications — only width varies. All specifications in this guide are drawn from the Modern Flames Landscape Pro Multi installation manual and spec sheet.

Use the framing dimensions here to plan rough-in framing and verify wall depth before ordering. The full installation manual is the authoritative document for all installation steps and must be followed in full.

⚠️

Important Safety Clearances

From the manufacturer installation manual — must be observed for all sizes and configurations

⚠️ 3-Foot Combustible Clearance — All Configurations

Per the installation manual: "Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, etc. and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear." This applies to all six sizes in all installation configurations.

ℹ️

No Indoor Ceiling or Top Clearance Specified

The installation manual does not state a specific ceiling, top, or TV clearance value for indoor installation. Consult a qualified installer for placement decisions not addressed by the manual.

🚫

Supplemental Heat Only

Per the installation manual: "This product is not intended to be a primary heat source. It is for supplemental heat only."

How to Measure

Verify these on-site before ordering

  1. Wall depth: Measure the available depth of the wall cavity or framing bay. All six sizes require a minimum framing depth of 12". For half-recessed installation, confirm the wall is a standard 2×4 framed wall.
  2. Framing width: The rough-in opening width must match the framing width for your chosen model size (see tables below). Measure the clear width between studs with no obstructions.
  3. Framing height: The rough-in height is 25 1/4" for all six models. Confirm the opening can accommodate this height including finish material.
  4. Drywall thickness: 1/2" or 5/8" drywall is recommended; thinner drywall is recommended for tile facades.
  5. Electrical circuit location: The dedicated circuit must be routed to the top right of the framed opening. The circuit must not share a breaker with any other load.
  6. Distinguish three measurement sets: The viewing area, firebox, and framing dimensions are three separate dimension sets. Do not use one in place of another when planning wall openings.

Installation Type Options

Six installation types are supported — each described below

3-Sided Installation (Bay)

The firebox installs into a framed opening with drywall terminating at the drywall stops on three sides of the firebox perimeter — top, bottom, and both sides visible. The dedicated circuit must be routed to the top right of the framed opening. Secure with minimum 1 1/4" drywall screws.

Fully Recessed Installation — Single Sided

Both side glass panels and drywall stops are removed. The firebox fully recesses into the wall with drywall stopping at the firebox perimeter on all sides. Requires the 12" minimum framing depth across all sizes.

Fully Recessed Installation — Left or Right Corner

One side glass panel and drywall stop are removed. The firebox recesses into a corner with drywall continuing past one open end. Used where the fireplace is visible from two perpendicular walls.

Half-Recessed Installation

Per the installation manual: "This installation is optimized for a 2x4 framed wall." The firebox partially recesses into the wall with decorative material applied to the exposed face. The separately sold 5-piece trim kit is compatible with this configuration. Wall compatibility for the trim kit: drywall or wood finish up to 3/4".

Suite Wall Mount & Recessed Cabinet Installation

Requires the separately purchased Suite Wall Mount Accessory Kit. The wall-mount bracket must secure to a minimum of 2 studs; hollow wall anchors are for additional support only and are not the primary support. Studio Suite cabinets are available in Coastal Sand, Driftwood Gray, Weathered Walnut, and Ready-to-Paint finishes.

Outdoor Installation

The Landscape Pro Multi is approved for outdoor use under specific documented conditions. All requirements are in the Outdoor Installation section below.

ℹ️

Drywall Stops

Drywall stops are present on the perimeter of all models — top, bottom, and both sides. These are the reference termination points for drywall in built-in installations.

Frequently Asked Questions

All answers sourced from manufacturer documentation

What is the minimum wall depth required for recessed installation of the Landscape Pro Multi?

The Landscape Pro Multi requires a minimum framing depth of 12 inches for all six sizes (44" through 120"). The half-recessed installation type is specifically optimized for a standard 2×4 framed wall.

Can the Landscape Pro Multi be wall-mounted without recessing into the wall?

Yes. The Landscape Pro Multi supports wall-mount installation via the separately purchased Suite Wall Mount Accessory Kit. This option does not require recessing into the wall. The wall-mount bracket must secure to a minimum of 2 studs. Hollow wall anchors are for additional support only and are not the primary support method.

What electrical circuit does the Landscape Pro Multi require?

A dedicated 110-volt, 20-amp circuit is required for standard 120V installation. For the optional 240V configuration, a dedicated 220–240 volt, 20-amp circuit is required. A 20-amp or higher breaker is required; a 2-pole breaker is required for the 240V option. The circuit must be routed to the top right of the framed opening. Extension cords and power strips are prohibited.

What clearance is required in front of the Landscape Pro Multi?

Combustible materials such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains must be kept at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater. The installation manual does not specify an exact dimension for side or rear clearance. No specific indoor ceiling, top, or TV clearance value is stated in the installation manual.

Is the Landscape Pro Multi approved for outdoor installation?

Yes. The Landscape Pro Multi is approved for indoor and outdoor use. For outdoor installation, all of the following conditions must be met: installed under a patio cover; away from direct water contact; away from direct sunlight; patio roof overhang must be 50% or more of the height from the bottom of the fireplace; side distance must also be 50% or more of that height; and the base of the fireplace must be a minimum of 2 inches above the floor. Outdoor installations that do not meet these exact conditions void the warranty.
