How to measure (60 seconds)
- Confirm your framing opening: frame to the minimum rough opening (cutout) dimensions in the fit table.
- Confirm depth: you need at least 8 3/4" cavity depth (adjust for sheathing if you line the cavity).
- Plan electrical: choose 120V (5,000 BTU) or 240V (10,000 BTU) and run the correct circuit (hardwire only).
- Mantel / TV: keep combustibles 36" from the front; mantel clearances follow the manual’s mantel chart.
Clearance note
The SF-INC36 is a zero-clearance design (sides/floor/top/back 0"), but keep combustibles at least 36" from the front. Mantel clearances apply (see manufacturer chart). There are no required clearances for wall mounting a TV above the fireplace; validate TV temperatures at installation.
Fit requirements table (hard constraints)
Dimensions below summarize the minimum framed rough opening (cutout) and the appliance’s actual size. Electrical is hardwire-only: 120V supports up to 5,000 BTU; 240V supports up to 10,000 BTU.
| Size | Model (SKU) | Viewing area (W×H) | Fireplace actual (W×H×D) | Rough opening / cutout (W×H×D) | Heat (standard) | Heat (optional) | Power + breaker | Link |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 36" | SF-INC36 | 34 1/2" W × 19" H | 41 1/4" W × 35 3/4" H × 8 7/8" D |
Cutout (min.): 42" W × 34 7/8" H × 8 3/4" D Adjust framing if sheathing the interior of the cavity (such as sheetrock). |
120V up to 5,000 BTU | 240V up to 10,000 BTU |
Hardwire only. 120V: minimum 15A, 120V/60Hz circuit. 240V: minimum 20A, 240V/60Hz circuit. A dedicated circuit is recommended to prevent breaker trips. Compatible with AFCI/GFCI breakers. |

Installation type selector
Choose your wiring option to see the right circuit requirements and planning notes.
120V: simplest wiring path (hardwire)
Use a minimum 15A, 120V/60Hz circuit. Frame to the cutout dimensions in the table and keep combustibles 36" from the front.
TV / mantel planning
No required TV clearance above the appliance, but validate actual TV temperatures during installation. Mantel clearances follow the manufacturer’s chart for projection vs height.
Tip: If you plan to sheath the inside of the cavity, increase your framing opening accordingly (see note in the table).
240V: maximum heat output (hardwire)
Use a minimum 20A, 240V/60Hz circuit for up to 10,000 BTU supplemental heat. Framing (cutout) dimensions are the same; follow the table and clearance notes.
Dedicated circuit recommended
A dedicated circuit helps avoid nuisance trips when other loads (lights, outlets, AV gear) share the line. Confirm breaker and wire sizing with a qualified electrician.
Note: The appliance is hardwire-only on both 120V and 240V configurations.
Size-by-size guidance (recommendations)
