The Fire Magic Echelon E540D Drop-In Grill brings the Echelon family into a 30″ drop-in cutout — three configurations with or without a hood, electric spark ignition, and 304 stainless steel tube burners.

Best for drop-in installs where a full Echelon built-in cutout isn't feasible — countertops, cart conversions, or compact outdoor kitchens that need an Echelon-family grill in a smaller form factor. Three variants: E540D-6TAN (with hood, natural gas) and E540D-6TAP (with hood, propane) ship with internal halogen lights and a 240 sq in warming rack; E540D-0T0N (without hood, natural gas) is the flat-top configuration without warming rack.

All three variants share the same 540 sq in primary cooking surface, the same 54,000 BTU main burner output, and the same 41¾″ × 20¾″ × 18″ drop-in cutout. Optional rotisserie kit (model 3684A) available for the with-hood variants. Electric spark ignition requires 110V / 120V service.

Authorized Retailer: This warranty is valid only for products purchased through an authorized dealer or distributor. Fire Magic products sold by Serene Yards are sourced through an authorized distributor. Your proof of purchase from us is required for all claims.
Professional Installation Required: The product must be installed by a qualified professional installer as specified in the Owner’s Manual to maintain warranty validity.
Residential Use: This warranty applies to single-family residential use in the USA and Canada.
Labor Costs: This warranty does not cover labor or labor-related charges for repairs.
Claims Process: For all warranty claims, please contact Serene Yards Customer Service first. We will initiate and manage the claims process with our distributor on your behalf. To assist you, please have your proof of purchase, the product's model and serial numbers, and details/photos of the issue ready.

Drop-in cutout dimensions: 41¾″ × 20¾″ × 18″ (uniform across all three E540D variants). 18″ minimum side-wall clearance and 4″–18″ rear-wall clearance (depending on combustible vs non-combustible construction); corner walls 24″; cooling appliances 14″; heating appliances 12″. Gas inlet pressure: natural gas inlet pressure 7″ W.C. normal (5″ min, 10½″ max); propane inlet pressure 11″ W.C. normal (10″ min, 13″ max); ½″ minimum supply pipe; manual shut-off valve required within 6 feet. Total BTU demand: 54,000 (single-zone cooking surface). 110V / 120V outlet required for the electric spark ignition and the internal halogen lights (with-hood variants) — same GFCI three-wire grounded receptacle requirement as the Echelon and Aurora built-in gas grills. FAQ – All Your Questions Answered

What is the difference between the with-hood and without-hood E540D variants?

The with-hood variants (E540D-6TAN natural gas, E540D-6TAP propane) ship with the full Echelon hood, internal halogen lights, and a 240 sq in warming rack — the full grill configuration. The without-hood variant (E540D-0T0N natural gas) is the flat-top configuration with the same 540 sq in primary cooking surface and 54,000 BTU main burner output, but no hood, no warming rack, and no halogen lights. Pick the with-hood variants for traditional grill cooking; pick the without-hood variant for a flat-top cooking installation that doesn't need an enclosure.

Can I add a rotisserie to the E540D?

Yes — on the with-hood variants only (E540D-6TAN and E540D-6TAP). The Fire Magic Rotisserie Kit (model 3684A) is available as a separate accessory. The without-hood E540D-0T0N variant does not accept the rotisserie kit.

What are the cutout dimensions for the E540D?

All three E540D variants share the same drop-in cutout: 41¾″ wide × 20¾″ deep × 18″ high. Plan the rough opening for these dimensions; the drop-in chassis includes a flange that rests on the counter surface above the cutout. Maintain 18″ minimum side-wall clearance and 4–18″ rear-wall clearance depending on rear-wall construction.

Does the E540D require an electrical outlet?

Yes. A 110V / 120V outlet is required for the electric spark ignition and (on the with-hood variants) the internal halogen lights. The outlet must be on a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protected three-wire grounded receptacle within reach of the cutout. Same electrical requirement as the Echelon and Aurora built-in gas grills.

Does Fire Magic offer free shipping?
