Fire Magic Electric grills deliver outdoor cooking without gas — Diamond Sear cooking grids over a dual heating element on the EL500 30″ premium tier, plus the compact E251 15½″ for spaces where 240V isn't available.

Best for outdoor kitchens where natural gas or propane is impractical (apartments, balconies, condos, rooftops, properties without a gas line) and the buyer wants premium Fire Magic construction in an electric format. Six SKUs cover both power tiers: EL500s 30″ patio post (P6), in-ground (G6), accessible patio (AP), and accessible in-ground (AG) — all 240V / 30A; plus E251s 15½″ patio post and E251t 15½″ counter top — both 120V / 15A.

The EL500 reaches up to 650°F (analog) on a 480 sq in cooking surface with patented Diamond Sear cooking grids and preheat under 15 minutes. The E251 reaches 650°F on a 252 sq in surface via a 1680-watt heating element, plug-and-play on a standard 120V GFCI outlet. Both tiers are emissions-free at the point of cooking.

Residential Use: This warranty applies to single-family residential use in the USA and Canada.

No gas connection at all. The lineup splits two electrical tiers. EL500 (30″) requires a dedicated 240VAC / 30A GFCI-protected circuit — installation requires a licensed electrician and (in most jurisdictions) a permit. EL500s post-mount installs on a 304 stainless pedestal; route the 240V supply line through the inside of the hollow post to the grill terminal box. P6 patio bolts to a finished surface; G6 in-ground extends 18″ below ground into a concrete footing sized for local frost depth. AP / AG Accessible variants reduce post height by 5″ for ADA reach-range. E251 (15½″) runs on standard 120VAC / 15A on a GFCI outlet — plug-and-play. 18″ minimum side-wall clearance and 4″–18″ rear-wall clearance (depending on combustible vs non-combustible construction); corner walls 24″; cooling appliances 14″; heating appliances 12″. What is the difference between EL500 and E251 electric grills?

Power, size, and cooking surface. EL500 (30″) requires a dedicated 240VAC / 30A circuit (the same service as a clothes dryer), reaches 650°F on a 480 sq in cooking surface with patented Diamond Sear cooking grids, and preheats in under 15 minutes. E251 (15½″) runs on standard 120VAC / 15A (plug into any GFCI outlet), reaches 650°F on a 252 sq in cooking surface via a 1680-watt heating element. Pick EL500 for premium outdoor cooking with a dedicated electrical install; pick E251 for compact installations where 240V isn't available.

Can I install an EL500 on a 120V outlet?

No. The EL500's dual heating element is designed for 240VAC service and will not function correctly on a standard 120V outlet. Do not use a 120V-to-240V adapter or a 120V extension cord. If 240V service is not available at the install location and bringing it is not feasible, the E251 series is the right choice — same Fire Magic electric grill construction principles in a 120V package.

How do I install an EL500 post-mount electric grill?

Two mounting options. Patio Post (P6 / AP SKUs): the 304 stainless steel pedestal bolts onto a finished patio surface using included anchor hardware; the AP Accessible variant reduces post height by 5″ for ADA compliance. In-Ground (G6 / AG SKUs): the post extends 18″ below ground into a concrete footing sized for local frost depth and soil conditions; the AG Accessible variant reduces above-ground height. Run the 240V / 30A supply line through the inside of the hollow stainless post to the grill terminal box. Plan for an electrician install — 240V circuits require permitted electrical work in most jurisdictions.

Can a Fire Magic electric grill be used on a balcony or rooftop?

The 120V E251 is approved for some apartment balcony and rooftop installations where local code permits 120V grills — verify with your building management before installing. The grill is for outdoor use only; do not operate in any enclosed area. The EL500's 240V / 30A electrical requirement typically rules out apartment balcony installation unless a 240V circuit is already present (rare). The E251t counter top variant is the only Fire Magic grill designed to be moved between locations during use.

Does Fire Magic offer free shipping?
