Why Choose the Enerzone Solution 1.4 Wood Stoves?

Mobile home approved in the compact class. The Solution 1.4 is the only Enerzone Solution model under 1,200 sq ft with documented mobile home approval in both the US and Canada. The install pairs with the AC01421 5-inch outside air intake kit and requires double-wall connector pipe, bolt-down at all four legs, and a factory-built ULC S629 / UL 103 HT chimney.

Smallest footprint in the Enerzone lineup. At 22⅞ inches wide by 27⅞ inches deep, the Solution 1.4 fits compact wall layouts and alcove installations where larger stoves cannot. Logs load north to south with a 17-inch maximum length, and the 1.8 ft³ firebox accepts four logs at high burn or five at medium-low burn.

Clean burn below EPA 2020 limits. Non-catalytic secondary air combustion delivers 1.8 g/h of particulate emissions, well under the 2.5 g/h regulatory limit. Maximum output is 45,000 BTU/h with a 5-hour maximum burn time. The Solution 1.4 qualifies for the federal Residential Clean Energy Credit under Section 25C of the US tax code.

Enerzone Solution 1.4 Wood Stoves Installation Overview

The Solution 1.4 connects to a 6-inch top flue outlet and a minimum 12-foot chimney certified to ULC S629 or UL 103 HT (2100°F). US clearances to combustibles with double-wall connector pipe are 6 inches at the back wall, 12 inches at a side wall, and 6 inches at a corner. Single-wall pipe clearances are 12 inches at the back wall, 12 inches at a side wall, and 11 inches at a corner. Floor protection extends 16 inches in front of the door opening and 8 inches on each side, made of any continuous non-combustible material (steel, grouted ceramic tile on cement board, or brick). Mobile home installations require the AC01421 5-inch outside air intake kit, double-wall connector pipe only, and bolt-down at all four legs. A licensed or NFI-certified installer is strongly recommended. Full cutout, clearance, and venting details are in the Solution 1.4 size guide.

FAQ – All Your Questions Answered

Can I install a Solution 1.4 in a mobile home?

Yes. The Solution 1.4 is mobile home approved in both the US and Canada per the Enerzone installation manual. The install requires the AC01421 5-inch outside air intake kit connected to insulated HVAC pipe meeting ULC S110 or UL 181 Class 0 or Class 1. Single-wall connector pipe is forbidden in mobile homes; only double-wall is permitted. The stove must be bolted to the floor at all four legs.

What size space does the Solution 1.4 heat?

250 to 1,200 square feet per Enerzone manufacturer documentation. The range assumes average insulation and a moderate climate. In poorly insulated structures, drafty mobile homes, or very cold climates, plan for the lower half of the range (250 to 800 sq ft).

What size logs fit in the Solution 1.4?

Maximum log length is 17 inches loaded north to south, with 16-inch logs recommended for typical use. Logs are oriented with their ends facing the door because the firebox is deeper than it is wide. The 1.8 ft³ firebox accommodates four logs at high burn loading or five logs at medium-low burn.

How long does the Solution 1.4 burn on one load?

Maximum burn time is 5 hours per Enerzone documentation, measured under controlled test conditions with the air control fully closed. In real-world use with dry hardwood at 16 to 20 percent moisture, plan to reload every 3 to 4 hours during the day for sustained heat.

What clearances does the Solution 1.4 need?

US clearances to combustibles with double-wall connector pipe are 6 inches at the back wall, 12 inches at a side wall, and 6 inches at a corner. With single-wall pipe, the values are 12 inches at the back wall, 12 inches at a side wall, and 11 inches at a corner. Ceiling clearance is 84 inches standard, reducible to 47¼ inches with the AC02762 heat shield. Floor protection extends 16 inches in front of the door opening and 8 inches on each side.

Do I need a blower on the Solution 1.4?

A blower is optional (Enerzone AC02023, 100 CFM with thermodisc). Without a blower, the stove radiates heat from the body, effective for the immediate room. With a blower, heated air pushes from behind the stove into the room, improving distribution. For primary heating in spaces over 800 sq ft, a blower is worth adding.

What type of wood should I burn?

Dry seasoned hardwood with moisture content below 20 to 25 percent (oak, maple, ash, beech, hickory). Season wood at least one year before burning and use a digital moisture meter to verify. Never burn wet wood, treated or painted wood, plywood, garbage, plastics, or coal. These damage the stove, void the warranty, and produce unsafe emissions.

Is the Solution 1.4 catalytic or non-catalytic?

Non-catalytic. The Solution 1.4 uses secondary air combustion. Stainless steel air tubes inject pre-heated oxygen above the fire to ignite gases that would otherwise escape as smoke. There is no catalytic combustor to inspect or replace. EPA 2020 certified at 1.8 g/h emissions, well below the 2.5 g/h regulatory limit.

About the Manufacturer

Enerzone is manufactured by SBI, Stove Builder International, which holds accreditation through an independent laboratory to test and certify every model to both US (EPA 2020, UL 1482, UL 737) and Canadian (CSA B415.1, ULC S627) standards simultaneously. That dual certification is what makes the Solution 1.4's mobile home approval possible, because the testing protocol required to list a stove for HUD-compliant manufactured housing relies on the same rigorous documentation SBI submits to both jurisdictions. Buyers installing in mobile and manufactured homes get a stove that has been verified against the safety and emissions standards on both sides of the border. See the Enerzone wood stove comparison guide for the full lineup.
