Why Choose the Enerzone Solution 2.3 Wood Stoves?

Primary-heating workhorse for medium to large homes. Rated for 500 to 2,100 sq ft with 75,000 BTU/h maximum output and a 2.4 ft³ firebox. The Solution 2.3 fits homes between 1,200 and 2,100 sq ft, cold climates where the 1.7's 65,000 BTU is insufficient, and open-plan layouts where heat needs to reach beyond the immediate room.

8-hour burn time and 20-inch log capacity. The longest burn in the Solution series, tied with the Harmony 2.3. The 20-inch maximum log length accepts standard cordwood delivery without resawing. Real-world overnight burns with 16 to 20-inch hardwood at 16 to 20 percent moisture deliver 6 to 7 hours of usable heat plus a hot coal bed for the morning.

Mobile home approved with six base options. The largest Enerzone with documented mobile home approval. Install pairs with the AC01211 (legs) or AC01336 (pedestal) 5-inch outside air intake kit. Six base options available across black cast iron and brushed nickel finishes, plus pedestal with ash drawer. The Solution 2.3 qualifies for the federal Residential Clean Energy Credit under Section 25C.

Enerzone Solution 2.3 Wood Stoves Installation Overview

The Solution 2.3 connects to a 6-inch top flue outlet offset 9⅝ inches from the rear and centered side to side, with a minimum 12-foot chimney certified to ULC S629 or UL 103 HT. US clearances with double-wall connector pipe are 6 inches at the back wall, 16 inches at a side wall, and 7 inches at a corner. Single-wall pipe clearances are 11 inches at the back wall, 16 inches at a side wall, and 10 inches at a corner. The 16-inch side wall clearance is larger than the 1.4 and 1.7, so verify lateral space before installation. Floor protection extends 16 inches in front of the door opening and 8 inches on each side. Mobile home installations require the AC01211 (legs) or AC01336 (pedestal) 5-inch outside air intake kit and double-wall connector pipe only. A licensed or NFI-certified installer is strongly recommended. Full cutout, clearance, and venting details are in the Solution 2.3 size guide.

FAQ – All Your Questions Answered

What size wood stove do I need for 2,000 square feet?

For 2,000 sq ft of average-insulation residential space in a moderate climate, the Enerzone Solution 2.3 is the strongest match. Its 500 to 2,100 sq ft rated range places 2,000 sq ft at the upper end where 75,000 BTU/h delivers primary heating without continuous high-burn operation. In cold climates (Zone 6 or above) or with poor insulation, step up to the Solution 3.5 for headroom.

How long does the Solution 2.3 burn on one load?

Maximum burn time is 8 hours per Enerzone documentation, the longest in the Solution series and tied with the Harmony 2.3. Measured under controlled test conditions with the air control fully closed. In real-world use with 16 to 20-inch hardwood at 16 to 20 percent moisture, expect 6 to 7 hours of usable heat plus a hot coal bed.

What is the difference between the Solution 2.3 and Solution 1.7?

Three differences. Heating capacity: 500 to 2,100 sq ft for the 2.3 versus 500 to 1,800 sq ft for the 1.7. Firebox size: 2.4 ft³ accepting 20-inch logs (2.3) versus 1.86 ft³ accepting 18-inch logs (1.7). Burn time: 8 hours (2.3) versus 7 hours (1.7). The 2.3 produces 75,000 BTU/h compared to the 1.7's 65,000 BTU/h. Choose the 2.3 for primary heating in cold climates or 1,500 plus sq ft homes; choose the 1.7 for moderate climates and homes under 1,500 sq ft.

Is the Solution 2.3 mobile home approved?

Yes, in both the US and Canada per the Enerzone installation manual (Section 3.1.5 and 6.10). The 2.3 is the largest Enerzone with mobile home approval. The install requires the AC01211 (legs) or AC01336 (pedestal) 5-inch outside air kit, double-wall connector pipe only, a factory-built ULC S629 / UL 103 HT chimney, and bolt-down to the floor.

What clearances does the Solution 2.3 need?

US clearances with double-wall connector pipe are 6 inches at the back wall, 16 inches at a side wall, and 7 inches at a corner. With single-wall pipe, the values are 11 inches at the back wall, 16 inches at a side wall, and 10 inches at a corner. Top clearance is 84 inches standard, reducible to 46⅝ inches with the AC02762 heat shield. Floor protection extends 16 inches in front of the door opening and 8 inches on each side. Side wall clearance is larger than the 1.4 and 1.7, so verify before installation.

Can the Solution 2.3 heat 2,500 sq ft?

Not as a primary heat source. The Solution 2.3's rated maximum is 2,100 sq ft under average conditions. For 2,500 plus sq ft homes, step up to the Solution 3.5 (1,000 to 2,700 sq ft, 110,000 BTU/h, blower included). Pushing the 2.3 beyond its rated capacity means continuous high-burn operation, which produces more emissions and wears components faster.

What size logs fit in the Solution 2.3?

Maximum log length is 20 inches loaded east to west. Recommended log length is 16 inches. The 2.4 ft³ firebox holds 5 logs at standard loading: 3 on the coal bed in east-to-west orientation, 2 stacked on top at 20-degree offset for high burn or flat for low or overnight burn. The 20-inch maximum accepts standard cordwood delivery without resawing.

Do I need a blower on the Solution 2.3?

A 130 CFM blower (Enerzone AC03095) is optional. For primary heating in homes over 1,500 sq ft, the blower is strongly recommended because it pushes heated air from behind the stove into the room and significantly improves distribution to rooms beyond the immediate stove location. The blower can be added at any time after installation.

About the Manufacturer

Enerzone is manufactured by SBI, Stove Builder International, the engineering team behind every Solution series wood stove. SBI's combustion approach uses pre-heated secondary air tubes that inject oxygen above the firebox, igniting gases that would otherwise escape as smoke. Every Solution model achieves EPA 2020 certification with particulate emissions measured well below the 2.5 g/h regulatory limit, including the 2.3 g/h figure on the Solution 2.3. See the Enerzone wood stove comparison guide for emission ratings across the full lineup.
