About Breckwell
Breckwell is a residential stove brand that makes both pellet stoves and wood stoves. The Breckwell wood stove product family uses non-catalytic secondary-air combustion for EPA 2020 certified clean burning. The pellet product family uses automated pellet feed with thermostat control.
Pellet vs wood
Pellet stoves burn manufactured wood pellets fed from a hopper by an auger to the burn pot. Thermostat control modulates the feed rate automatically. Wood stoves burn cordwood loaded by hand, with manual damper control. Pellets offer set-it-and-forget-it convenience and consistent output; cordwood offers lower fuel cost (often) and the look of a real wood fire.
Models in our lineup
Breckwell Big E Pellet Stove is the pellet model. Automated pellet feed, thermostat control, electric ignition. Sized for primary or supplemental heat in a home.
Breckwell SW500 Wood Stove is the small-format non-catalytic wood stove. EPA 2020 certified secondary-air combustion. Sized for small homes, cabins, and zone heating.
How to choose
Use the Breckwell comparison guide for the full side-by-side. The short answer: pick the Big E if you want pellet automation and electric ignition; pick the SW500 if you want a traditional cordwood stove with manual operation. Pellet stoves require electricity to run the auger and blower; the SW500 wood stove operates off-grid.
