The Broilmaster Premium Series Gas Grill is the brand's flagship cast aluminum grill head, built around the patented stainless steel Bow Tie Burner with separate left/right control for direct grilling and indirect roasting from a single head.

Best for:

  • Patio buyers who want one grill that handles 90% of outdoor cooking — burgers, steaks, chicken, vegetables, occasional rotisserie.
  • Installations where mounting flexibility matters — cart, in-ground post, patio post, or built-in via the BHAX2 kit, all using the same head.
  • Cooks who want to choose between Charmaster Briquets (P3X, P4X) and Flare Buster ceramic flavor enhancers (P3XF, P4XF) by suffix.

The P3 head delivers 40,000 BTU over 695 sq in of cooking area; the smaller P4 head delivers 40,000 BTU over 473 sq in. Multi-level stainless steel cooking grids adjust to three levels on P3, two levels on P4. Electric Ignitor lights from a single AA alkaline battery — no 120V outlet required. Available in Liquid Propane (no suffix) or Natural Gas (N suffix).

Package SKUs (P3PK5/N cart, P3PK6N in-ground post, P3PK7N patio post) bundle a P3X head with a coordinated base.

Why Choose the Broilmaster Premium Series Gas Grills?

The Bow Tie Burner architecture. The patented stainless steel Bow Tie Burner is what defined Broilmaster in 1966 and still anchors the Premium and Super Premium lines today. A single dual-control burner delivers 40,000 BTU across the full head with separate left/right control for indirect cooking — the same heat output regardless of head size (P3 vs P4). The Bow Tie Burner carries a Limited Lifetime warranty against rust-through.

Two head sizes, four mounting options, two flavor systems. Pick the head (P3 = 695 sq in or P4 = 473 sq in), pick the mount (cart, in-ground post, patio post, or BHAX2 built-in kit), and pick the flavor system (Charmaster Briquets on plain X models or Flare Buster ceramic on F-suffix models). Three independent decisions, all using the same cast aluminum head.

Cast aluminum head built to last. The thick cast aluminum grill head heats uniformly, holds temperature, and transmits more heat to the food than thin-stamped grill heads. The Limited Lifetime warranty against rust-through covers the housing (excluding paint) and the Bow Tie Burner; the multi-level stainless steel cooking grids carry the same Limited Lifetime term.

Broilmaster Premium Series Gas Grills Installation Overview

Premium grill heads sell separately from their mountings, with four mounting options: cart (PCB-1 stainless, DCB-1 black painted, PSCB-1 storage), in-ground post (SS48-G or BL48-G, anchored below the patio surface in concrete), patio post with cast iron base (SS26-P or BL26-P, bolted to existing patio), or built-in via the BHAX2 stainless steel built-in kit. Required clearances apply to all four mountings: 16″ minimum from sides to combustibles, 18″ minimum from rear, and no combustible overhead structure. Natural gas inlet pressure is 7.0″ water column; total demand is 40,000 BTU/hr per head regardless of P3 (695 sq in) or P4 (473 sq in). Electric Ignitor uses a single AA alkaline battery — no 120V outlet required. See the Premium size & mounting guide for cutout, clearance, and mounting selection details.

FAQ – All Your Questions Answered

Is the Broilmaster Premium gas grill a good brand?

Broilmaster has manufactured premium gas grills since 1966 and is owned by Empire Comfort Systems Inc. The Premium Series is built around a heavy-duty cast aluminum grill head with the patented stainless steel Bow Tie Burner — the same burner architecture the brand has used for nearly six decades. The Bow Tie Burner carries a Limited Lifetime warranty against rust-through; the cast aluminum housing carries the same Limited Lifetime term (excluding paint). Construction places the Premium Series in the premium tier of residential outdoor gas grills.

How long do Broilmaster Premium grills last?

The Premium Series headline warranty is Limited Lifetime against rust-through on the cast aluminum grill housing (excluding paint), the stainless steel Bow Tie Burner, the stainless steel cooking grids, the stainless steel cart and mounting components, and the stainless steel built-in components (BHAX2 kit, door kit, tilt-out LP tank door, vent register kit, side shelf DPA153). Other components carry tiered terms: 5 years on Flare Buster ceramic flavor enhancers and the Smoker Shutter, 2 years on porcelain-coated briquet racks and the chrome-plated warming rack, 1 year on valves, knobs, ignitors, hoses, fittings, and grease cups.

How do I start a Broilmaster Premium gas grill?

1. Open the grill lid. 2. Turn the gas knob clockwise to OFF, then turn ON the gas at the source (LP cylinder or NG supply). 3. Push and turn the burner control knob counterclockwise to HI while pressing the ignitor button. The Electric Ignitor uses one AA alkaline battery to generate the spark. If a burner fails to light after 5 seconds, turn it OFF for 5 minutes to allow gas to clear, then try again. Most "burner won't light" complaints on Broilmaster Premium grills are caused by a dead AA battery — replace before troubleshooting other components.

What is the difference between the P3X and P4X heads?

Both heads use the patented stainless steel Bow Tie Burner at 40,000 BTU with separate left/right control. The difference is cooking area: the P3 head (P3X, P3XN, P3XF, P3XFN) is 695 sq in; the P4 head (P4X, P4XN, P4XF, P4XFN) is 473 sq in. Multi-level stainless steel cooking grids adjust to three levels on P3 and two levels on P4. Pick P3 for households of 4+ or any rotisserie use; pick P4 for compact patios, smaller households, and lower entry price into the Bow Tie Burner architecture. The "F" suffix in either family indicates Flare Buster ceramic flavor enhancers; no suffix indicates Charmaster Briquets. The "N" suffix indicates Natural Gas; no N indicates Liquid Propane.

Where can I buy a Broilmaster Premium gas grill?

About the Manufacturer

Broilmaster's place in residential gas grilling starts with one engineering decision: the patented stainless steel Bow Tie Burner introduced on the original 1966 G-1000. The brand has manufactured premium gas grills under that architecture ever since.

The Premium Series is the direct continuation of that 1966 lineage — heavy-duty cast aluminum head, the patented stainless steel Bow Tie Burner with separate left/right control delivering 40,000 BTU across the cooking surface, and a Limited Lifetime warranty against rust-through covering both the housing and the burner itself.

Broilmaster is owned today by Empire Comfort Systems Inc., headquartered in Belleville, Illinois — Empire acquired the Broilmaster Grill Division in November 2001 and has maintained the Bow Tie Burner architecture across the Premium and Super Premium product families since.
