Shipping & Delivery

Made to order
Each planter is hand-finished when you order it. Allow 5 to 7 business days of production before your order ships.

Curbside freight delivery — $395
This size ships on a pallet by freight truck for a flat $395, free on orders over $2,000. The driver lowers it to the curb with a liftgate; plan for a second person to move it into place. The carrier will call to schedule a delivery window, so please be available. Freight transit depends on how far you are from the shipping warehouse and on the carrier's terminal network, so we do not quote a fixed number of days. You will get tracking when the pallet leaves, and we will confirm the delivery window with you once the carrier books it.

Returns
14 days from delivery, unused and in the original packaging, with a 30% restocking fee. Refunded as Serene Yards store credit. Drilled and custom planters are final sale. Freight orders are final sale except where the planter arrives damaged or defective.

If it arrives damaged
Inspect the shipment before you sign. Note any damage on the bill of lading or delivery receipt before signing — to the boxes, the planter, or the packing material. A Jay Scotts delivery that arrives visibly damaged or not intact may also be refused outright. Do not refuse a Cosapots delivery: accept it, note the damage on the receipt and contact us, because a refused Cosapots shipment carries a 30% restocking fee plus round-trip shipping under the manufacturer's terms. You are entitled to open each box and inspect the goods; if the driver will not wait, write on the paperwork that you could not check for concealed damage. Report it to us in writing within 2 business days of delivery at customerservice@sereneyards.com, with photos of the damage, the cartons and the packing material, and keep all packaging until the claim is resolved. Damage noted at delivery and reported this way is covered — contact us and we'll make it right, either by replacing the planter or refunding you. Damage not noted at the time of delivery is much harder to resolve, because the carrier claim depends on that record. Full details are in our Shipping Policy.

Return & Refund Policy

Return Eligibility

Every Jay Scotts planter carries a three-year limited manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, which applies whether or not an item is returnable.

One hundred inches in a single piece. The Hudson is over two feet longer than anything else we carry, and the reason to want it is what you do not get: joints.

A long run assembled from three or four planters shows every seam. The gaps have to be even, the tops have to sit level on ground that rarely is, and over a season or two they drift out of line. One continuous body has none of those problems. Across a terrace edge, a restaurant frontage or a lobby division it draws one line, and the planting reads as a hedge rather than as a row of containers.

The interior runs twenty-six inches deep in a body twenty-eight tall, so there is real root volume for structural planting rather than a shallow tray. Eight twelve-inch nursery pots fit end to end. The practical warning is size: a hundred inches does not turn a corner, fit a standard doorway or come off a truck easily, so check the route before it arrives. Freight, and permanent once filled. Non-porous, so it does not take up the water that expands on freezing, and hand-finished to order in the color you choose.

Hudson Extra Long Planter in the studio

Hudson Planter in Matte Bright White

Built to last

Every piece we carry is chosen to last, indoors or out, and look considered for years, not seasons.

Built to last

Inside or out

Non-porous fiberglass with a UV-resistant finish: it does not absorb the water that expands on freezing, so it holds its shape through winter and its color through summer.

Our longest run

A hundred inches, one piece

Eighteen inches deep and twenty-eight inches tall across a full one hundred inches, the Hudson reads as a built screen rather than a single container.

Finished to order

Your color, your space

Each Hudson is hand-finished in your chosen shade, so the color is specified to the space rather than chosen from what is in stock. The finish is an automotive-grade, UV-resistant paint system.

Finished in your color

Every planter is finished to order in the color you choose, then shipped to you.

Twenty standard finishes, hand-finished to order in the color you choose. Custom colors are available on request. On-screen color is a guide and can vary slightly from the finished paint.

Questions, answered

Can the Hudson be used indoors and outdoors?

Yes. It is premium fiberglass, non-porous and UV-resistant, so it does not absorb the water that expands on freezing and does not fade in full sun.

Drainage is what decides it in practice: water left standing in an undrained planter through a freeze is the common failure, not the material.

How big is the Hudson?

One size: 100 inches long, 18 inches deep, and 28 inches tall, with an opening about 15 inches deep and 26 inches of interior height.

What is the extra-long shape best for?

It reads less like a container and more like a built screen, suited to dividing a patio, softening a long railing, or standing in as a living privacy wall.

What can I plant in it?

The long, even opening suits a dense hedge planting like bamboo, ornamental grasses, or a repeating row of upright shrubs. Use lightweight potting soil only.

Does it come with drainage holes?

Not by default, so it can hold a liner. You can add drilled drainage on request; note a drilled planter is finished to order and non-returnable.

How heavy is it, and how does it ship?

About 133 lb empty. It ships by freight truck on a pallet, delivered curbside for a flat $395 (free on orders over $2,000).
