Cosapots ship sealed. Drainage is drilled for outdoor use.

Which should I choose?

Why it matters
Every Cosapots planter is sealed with a watertight layer on the inside, so an undrilled one holds whatever water goes into it. Cosapots specify drilled drainage for outdoor use, and note it matters most in regions that reach freezing temperatures.

Do I need it?

  • Outdoors: yes. Cosapots specify drainage for any outdoor use, so water can drain sufficiently from the planter.
  • Indoors: usually not. The sealed interior holds water rather than passing it to the floor, so an undrilled planter works as a cachepot or around a nursery liner.

What we do
Drilling is free and done to Cosapots' own specification before your planter ships.

One thing to know

  • Drilling cannot be undone, so a drilled planter is final sale.

Shipping & Delivery

Made to order
Each planter is hand-finished when you order it. Allow 3 to 5 business days of production before your order ships. Gloss finishes need 5 to 7.

Free ground shipping
This size ships free by ground within the contiguous 48 states. You will receive a tracking number by email the moment your order ships; delivery usually takes another 2 to 7 business days.

Returns
30 days from delivery, in new and unused condition in the original packaging, with a 30% restocking fee.

If it arrives damaged
Inspect the shipment before you sign. Note any damage on the bill of lading or delivery receipt before signing — to the boxes, the planter, or the packing material. Do not refuse the delivery: accept it, note the damage on the receipt and contact us, because a refused shipment carries a 30% restocking fee plus round-trip shipping under the manufacturer's terms. You are entitled to open each box and inspect the goods; if the driver will not wait, write on the paperwork that you could not check for concealed damage. Report it to us in writing within 24 hours of delivery at customerservice@sereneyards.com, with photos of the damage, the cartons and the packing material, and keep all packaging until the claim is resolved. Damage noted at delivery and reported this way is covered — contact us and we'll make it right, either by replacing the planter or refunding you. Damage not noted at the time of delivery is much harder to resolve, because the carrier claim depends on that record. Full details are in our Shipping Policy.

Return & Refund Policy

Return Eligibility
Cosapots planters may be returned within 30 days of delivery, unused, uninstalled, and in the original box with all factory packing materials. Planters with drainage holes added are final sale, because drilling cannot be undone. This does not affect your rights if the planter arrives damaged or defective.

How to Start a Return
Contact us first. Email customerservice@sereneyards.com or call 888.254.6088 for a Return Authorization (RA) number. Returns without an RA cannot be accepted.

Return Costs

  • A 30% restocking fee applies to all authorized returns.
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable. Where shipping was free or discounted, the original shipping cost may be assessed.
  • You arrange and prepay return shipping.
  • For returns due to our error (damaged, defective, or incorrect item), we cover return shipping and waive the restocking fee.

Final Sale
Freight orders are final sale except where the planter arrives damaged or defective. Your shipping method is shown on every size before you order.

Refunds
Approved returns are refunded to your original payment method, issued within 7 business days of us receiving and inspecting your return.

Every Cosapots planter carries a five-year limited manufacturer warranty.

The Lofto is a tall tapered column. Three sizes standing 30.5, 36.4 and 43.7 inches, the last of which is the tallest Cosapots planter we carry. A narrow footprint and a lot of height, which is what you use to mark an entrance or break a long wall without giving up floor space.

All three have a molded floor set inside the body with a sealed void beneath it. A Lofto 50 stands 43.7 inches and plants 17.7 inches deep; the smallest plants 13.8. Those are the figures we list, taken from the manufacturer's drawing for each size, and they are the ones that decide what will root.

The taper is gentle enough that the sizes group without looking like a set of steps. Every size is published with its own drawing. The shell is fiberglass combined with polyester, and the thin rim lowers the center of gravity, which counts for something on a column this tall. Six stone colors, with the color mixed into the material rather than applied to it.

Lofto Tall Column Fiberglass Planter in the studio

A tall column, tapering as it rises.

Built to last

Every piece we carry is chosen to last, indoors or out, and look considered for years, not seasons.

The height

Three columns to 43.7 inches

Standing 30.5, 36.4 and 43.7 inches on footprints of 14.6, 16.5 and 19.8. The tallest is the tallest Cosapots planter we carry. Height at a small footprint is the whole argument for a column, and it is what makes a pair of them work either side of a door.

Plantable depth

Thirteen to eighteen inches of soil

Each size carries a molded floor below the rim with a sealed void underneath: 13.8 inches of planting depth on the smallest and 17.7 on the two larger. The figure comes off the manufacturer's drawing for that size, and it is not the same as the height.

The material

Cohesa, hand molded

Fiberglass combined with polyester and natural additives, hand molded over three to seven days per piece, with structural reinforcement built into the shell. At 20 to 39 pounds packaged a column this tall stays movable by one person.

Color in the material

The color is mixed into the material with natural colorants rather than applied as a coat, so it runs right through the piece.

Six standard finishes, colored right through the material with natural colorants rather than painted, so the stone-like finish is integral to the piece. On-screen color is a guide and can vary slightly from the finished paint.

Questions, answered

How deep can I plant a Lofto?

13.8 inches in the smallest size and 17.7 in the two larger. All three have a molded internal floor with a sealed void beneath it, so the planting depth is less than the height.

How tall are they?

30.5, 36.4 and 43.7 inches. The tallest is the tallest Cosapots planter we carry.

What fits in one?

A 10 inch grow pot in the smallest, 12 in the middle and 14 in the largest.

Is it stable?

The footprint is 14.6 to 19.8 inches against 30 to 44 inches of height. The rim is thin and solid, which lowers the center of gravity, and the internal floor keeps the soil weight in the upper body.

How heavy is it?

20.2, 28.2 and 38.7 pounds packaged. Light enough to reposition before planting.

How does it ship?

The 30.5 inch size goes by ground. The two taller sizes ship by freight on a pallet.

Can I drill drainage myself after delivery?

Yes. Drainage is free if you ask for it before we ship, and a drilled planter is final sale. If you would rather drill later, use a 25 mm bit suitable for metal materials. Drill before planting, not after.

Will watering mark my terrace or decking?

It can. Water carries growing media out with it, so protect the surface underneath, particularly on timber, pale stone or interior flooring. On a terrace, balcony or roof, also check the filled weight against what the structure carries: soil is the heaviest part, not the planter.
