Cosapots ship sealed. Drainage is drilled for outdoor use.

Which should I choose?

Why it matters
Every Cosapots planter is sealed with a watertight layer on the inside, so an undrilled one holds whatever water goes into it. Cosapots specify drilled drainage for outdoor use, and note it matters most in regions that reach freezing temperatures.

Do I need it?

  • Outdoors: yes. Cosapots specify drainage for any outdoor use, so water can drain sufficiently from the planter.
  • Indoors: usually not. The sealed interior holds water rather than passing it to the floor, so an undrilled planter works as a cachepot or around a nursery liner.

What we do
Drilling is free and done to Cosapots' own specification before your planter ships.

One thing to know

  • Drilling cannot be undone, so a drilled planter is final sale.

Shipping & Delivery

Made to order
Each planter is hand-finished when you order it. Allow 3 to 5 business days of production before your order ships. Gloss finishes need 5 to 7.

Free ground shipping
This size ships free by ground within the contiguous 48 states. You will receive a tracking number by email the moment your order ships; delivery usually takes another 2 to 7 business days.

Returns
30 days from delivery, in new and unused condition in the original packaging, with a 30% restocking fee.

If it arrives damaged
Inspect the shipment before you sign. Note any damage on the bill of lading or delivery receipt before signing — to the boxes, the planter, or the packing material. Do not refuse the delivery: accept it, note the damage on the receipt and contact us, because a refused shipment carries a 30% restocking fee plus round-trip shipping under the manufacturer's terms. You are entitled to open each box and inspect the goods; if the driver will not wait, write on the paperwork that you could not check for concealed damage. Report it to us in writing within 24 hours of delivery at customerservice@sereneyards.com, with photos of the damage, the cartons and the packing material, and keep all packaging until the claim is resolved. Damage noted at delivery and reported this way is covered — contact us and we'll make it right, either by replacing the planter or refunding you. Damage not noted at the time of delivery is much harder to resolve, because the carrier claim depends on that record. Full details are in our Shipping Policy.

Return & Refund Policy

Return Eligibility
Cosapots planters may be returned within 30 days of delivery, unused, uninstalled, and in the original box with all factory packing materials. Planters with drainage holes added are final sale, because drilling cannot be undone. This does not affect your rights if the planter arrives damaged or defective.

How to Start a Return
Contact us first. Email customerservice@sereneyards.com or call 888.254.6088 for a Return Authorization (RA) number. Returns without an RA cannot be accepted.

Return Costs

  • A 30% restocking fee applies to all authorized returns.
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable. Where shipping was free or discounted, the original shipping cost may be assessed.
  • You arrange and prepay return shipping.
  • For returns due to our error (damaged, defective, or incorrect item), we cover return shipping and waive the restocking fee.

Final Sale
Freight orders are final sale except where the planter arrives damaged or defective. Your shipping method is shown on every size before you order.

Refunds
Approved returns are refunded to your original payment method, issued within 7 business days of us receiving and inspecting your return.

Every Cosapots planter carries a five-year limited manufacturer warranty.

The Orbo is a sphere with the top cut flat. Three sizes, from 23.6 inches across to 35.4, and the proportion holds through all three, so a group reads as one idea at different scales rather than as three round planters.

The opening is much smaller than the body, and that is the thing to understand before buying one. An Orbo 90 is 35.4 inches across and opens 18.3. The sphere is what you see and the opening is what you plant through, so the two numbers answer different questions and we publish both for every size. The manufacturer states a maximum grow pot per size as well, which is the practical version of the same fact: 10 inches on the smallest, 16 on the largest.

What the shape buys is soil volume without footprint. A sphere holds more below the rim than a tapered planter of the same diameter, so the Orbo carries a larger root ball than its opening suggests. The shell is fiberglass combined with polyester, with a high solid inner rim concealing the framework. Six stone colors, with the color mixed into the material.

The opening is measured at the rim; the body is wider than the rim on this shape.

Due to the handmade nature of our products, weights and dimensions may vary slightly.

Orbo Sphere Fiberglass Planter in the studio

A sphere with the top cut flat.

Built to last

Every piece we carry is chosen to last, indoors or out, and look considered for years, not seasons.

The form

A sphere, flattened at the top

Three sizes at 23.6, 29.5 and 35.4 inches across, standing 21.1, 26.2 and 31.3 inches tall. The proportion is constant, so the sizes group without looking like different products. The base is flattened enough to sit without a stand.

Body and opening

Two diameters, and they are far apart

The widest point of an Orbo 90 is 35.4 inches. Its opening is 18.3. On a sphere those are nearly two to one, and the gap is wider than on any other shape in the range. The body figure is the clearance you need; the opening is what the root ball passes through. Both are on the page.

Volume

More soil than the opening suggests

Below the rim the body widens again, so a sphere holds a larger root ball than a tapered planter of the same opening. The manufacturer's maximum grow pot figure runs from 10 inches on the smallest to 16 on the largest, which is the number to plan the planting from.

Color in the material

The color is mixed into the material with natural colorants rather than applied as a coat, so it runs right through the piece.

Six standard finishes, colored right through the material with natural colorants rather than painted, so the stone-like finish is integral to the piece. On-screen color is a guide and can vary slightly from the finished paint.

Questions, answered

How wide is the opening?

13.2 inches on the smallest, 16.5 on the middle and 18.3 on the largest. Those are the openings, not the body diameters, which are 23.6, 29.5 and 35.4.

Why is the opening so much smaller than the planter?

It is the shape. A sphere reaches its widest point below the rim, so the top is always narrower than the body. The manufacturer's grow pot figure accounts for it.

What size plant fits?

A 10 inch grow pot in the smallest, 14 in the middle and 16 in the largest.

Can it stay outside?

Yes. The inside is sealed with a watertight layer, and the bottom is raised so water runs off rather than standing beneath the planter.

How heavy is it?

From 19.6 pounds packaged for the smallest to 45.8 for the largest. Filled with damp soil it is considerably more, so place it before planting.

How does it ship?

All three sizes ship by freight on a pallet.

Can I drill drainage myself after delivery?

Yes. Drainage is free if you ask for it before we ship, and a drilled planter is final sale. If you would rather drill later, use a 25 mm bit suitable for metal materials. Drill before planting, not after.

Will watering mark my terrace or decking?

It can. Water carries growing media out with it, so protect the surface underneath, particularly on timber, pale stone or interior flooring. On a terrace, balcony or roof, also check the filled weight against what the structure carries: soil is the heaviest part, not the planter.
