Shipping & Delivery

Made to order
Each planter is hand-finished when you order it. Allow 5 to 10 business days of production before your order ships.

Curbside freight delivery — $495
This size ships on a pallet by freight truck for a flat $495, free on orders over $2,000. The driver lowers it to the curb with a liftgate; plan for a second person to move it into place. The carrier will call to schedule a delivery window, so please be available.

Returns
This size is final sale except for a manufacturer defect or shipping damage reported as below.

If it arrives damaged
Inspect the shipment before you sign. If it arrives visibly damaged or not intact, you may refuse it. If you accept it, note the damage on the bill of lading or delivery receipt before signing — to the boxes, the planter, or the packing material. You are entitled to open each box and inspect the goods; if the driver will not wait, write on the paperwork that you could not check for concealed damage. Report it to us in writing within 2 business days of delivery at customerservice@sereneyards.com, with photos of the damage, the cartons and the packing material, and keep all packaging until the claim is resolved. Damage noted at delivery and reported this way is covered — contact us and we'll make it right, either by replacing the planter or refunding you. Damage not noted at the time of delivery is much harder to resolve, because the carrier claim depends on that record. Full details are in our Shipping Policy.

Return & Refund Policy

At Serene Yards, we want you to be happy with your purchase.

Return Eligibility
Items must be new, unused, and in original packaging within 30 days of delivery. Drilled-drainage planters are final sale, because drilling is done to order and cannot be undone. This does not affect your rights if the planter arrives damaged or defective.

How to Initiate a Return
Contact us first! Email customerservice@sereneyards.com or call 888.254.6088 to get a Return Authorization (RA) number. Returns without an RA will not be accepted.

Return Costs

  • A 30% restocking fee applies to change-of-mind returns.
  • The customer is responsible for return shipping costs on change-of-mind returns.
  • For returns due to our error (damaged, defective, or incorrect item), we cover return shipping and waive the restocking fee.

Refunds
Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 7 business days of us receiving and inspecting your return.

The Globe is a sphere, and a sphere needs room around it. Set it against a wall and a viewer sees a half circle. Set it where people pass on both sides and they see the form it was actually drawn as.

Spherical, with the base flattened just enough to sit still, and a circular mouth cut into the top. Push it into a corner and you lose the shape you paid for. Give it open floor, a plinth, or a lawn edge where people pass on both sides, and it reads the way it was drawn.

Three sizes, twenty-four, thirty and thirty-six inches across, and the opening does not keep pace with the body: thirteen and a half inches on the twenty-four, seventeen and a half on the thirty-six. So the bigger it gets the more it is sphere and the less it is container. The planting stays compact and the sphere stays the subject. Size the plant to that figure, not to the label.

At sixteen pounds empty the smallest is easy to move, and light enough to shift in wind before it is planted, so fill it where you want it. All three travel by freight regardless of size, because the body is bulky for what it weighs. Non-porous, so it does not take up the water that expands on freezing, and hand-finished to order in the color you choose.

Globe Planter in the studio

A single round note in the garden.

Built to last

Every piece we carry is chosen to last, indoors or out, and look considered for years, not seasons.

Built to last

Inside or out

Non-porous fiberglass with a UV-resistant finish: it does not absorb the water that expands on freezing, so it holds its shape through winter and its color through summer.

One clean form

A sphere, seen from every side

The Globe is a full sphere, meant to be seen in the round on a floor or plinth rather than tucked against a wall.

Finished to order

Your color, your space

Each Globe is hand-finished in your chosen shade, so the color is specified to the space rather than chosen from what is in stock. The finish is an automotive-grade, UV-resistant paint system.

Finished in your color

Every planter is finished to order in the color you choose, then shipped to you.

Twenty standard finishes, hand-finished to order in the color you choose. Custom colors are available on request. On-screen color is a guide and can vary slightly from the finished paint.

Questions, answered

Can the Globe be used indoors and outdoors?

Yes. It’s premium fiberglass, non-porous and UV-resistant, so it does not absorb the water that expands on freezing and does not fade in full sun. Add drainage if it will live outdoors so rain does not collect in the body.

Drainage is what decides it in practice: water left standing in an undrained planter through a freeze is the common failure, not the material.

What size is it?

Three sizes: 24, 30 or 36 inches across, standing 19, 24 and 30 inches tall. The opening is 13.4, 15.4 and 17.4 inches, so it grows more slowly than the body does.

What can I plant in it?

A mounding or trailing plant that spills over the round opening looks best, softening the sphere, or a single sculptural specimen that echoes the form.

Does it come with drainage holes?

Not by default, so it can hold a liner or double as a cachepot. You can add drilled drainage on request; note a drilled planter is finished to order and non-returnable.

How heavy is it?

Light for its size: about 16.6 lb packaged at 24 inches, 25.4 at 30 and 40.3 at 36, all easy for one person to move and position before planting. All three ship by freight, because the body is bulky for what it weighs.

How long until it ships?

Each planter is finished to order in your chosen color and ships in about one to two weeks, and ships by freight (flat $495 fee, free over $2,000).
