Shipping & Delivery

Made to order
Each planter is hand-finished when you order it. Allow 5 to 10 business days of production before your order ships.

Curbside freight delivery — $495
This size ships on a pallet by freight truck for a flat $495, free on orders over $2,000. The driver lowers it to the curb with a liftgate; plan for a second person to move it into place. The carrier will call to schedule a delivery window, so please be available.

Returns
This size is final sale except for a manufacturer defect or shipping damage reported as below.

If it arrives damaged
Inspect the shipment before you sign. If it arrives visibly damaged or not intact, you may refuse it. If you accept it, note the damage on the bill of lading or delivery receipt before signing — to the boxes, the planter, or the packing material. You are entitled to open each box and inspect the goods; if the driver will not wait, write on the paperwork that you could not check for concealed damage. Report it to us in writing within 2 business days of delivery at customerservice@sereneyards.com, with photos of the damage, the cartons and the packing material, and keep all packaging until the claim is resolved. Damage noted at delivery and reported this way is covered — contact us and we'll make it right, either by replacing the planter or refunding you. Damage not noted at the time of delivery is much harder to resolve, because the carrier claim depends on that record. Full details are in our Shipping Policy.

Return & Refund Policy

At Serene Yards, we want you to be happy with your purchase.

Return Eligibility
Items must be new, unused, and in original packaging within 30 days of delivery. Drilled-drainage planters are final sale, because drilling is done to order and cannot be undone. This does not affect your rights if the planter arrives damaged or defective.

How to Initiate a Return
Contact us first! Email customerservice@sereneyards.com or call 888.254.6088 to get a Return Authorization (RA) number. Returns without an RA will not be accepted.

Return Costs

  • A 30% restocking fee applies to change-of-mind returns.
  • The customer is responsible for return shipping costs on change-of-mind returns.
  • For returns due to our error (damaged, defective, or incorrect item), we cover return shipping and waive the restocking fee.

Refunds
Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 7 business days of us receiving and inspecting your return.

The Spiral is the only planter we sell whose rim is not level. The opening is cut on a slant, so one side of the mouth stands higher than the other.

That gives the planting a direction. A level rim presents the same face from every angle; this one has a low side and a high side, and an arrangement set into it leans out of the low one. Point that toward the main approach and the planter reads as moving rather than sitting. Turn it the other way and it closes up. It is worth deciding before it is filled, because at twenty-six inches across and filled with soil it is not something you nudge.

The body is exactly as wide as it is tall, wrapped in a continuous horizontal groove that breaks a large round mass into bands. Without it, a form this size would read as heavy. The opening is just under seventeen inches, so there is real planting room. No pot size is published for it, so size a liner to that figure or plant directly. Non-porous, so it does not take up the water that expands on freezing, and hand-finished to order in the color you choose.

Spiral Round Planter in the studio

A ribbed barrel that reads as movement.

Built to last

Every piece we carry is chosen to last, indoors or out, and look considered for years, not seasons.

Built to last

Inside or out

Non-porous fiberglass with a UV-resistant finish: it does not absorb the water that expands on freezing, so it holds its shape through winter and its color through summer.

Ribbed and turning

A coil of motion

A continuous horizontal groove wraps the bulbous body and the opening is cut on a slant, so a heavy round form reads as movement rather than mass.

Finished to order

Your color, your space

Each Spiral is hand-finished in your chosen shade, so the color is specified to the space rather than chosen from what is in stock. The finish is an automotive-grade, UV-resistant paint system.

Finished in your color

Every planter is finished to order in the color you choose, then shipped to you.

Twenty standard finishes, hand-finished to order in the color you choose. Custom colors are available on request. On-screen color is a guide and can vary slightly from the finished paint.

Questions, answered

Can the Spiral be used indoors and outdoors?

Yes. It's premium fiberglass, non-porous and UV-resistant, so it does not absorb the water that expands on freezing and does not fade in full sun.

Drainage is what decides it in practice: water left standing in an undrained planter through a freeze is the common failure, not the material.

How big is the Spiral?

It comes in one statement size: 26 inches wide and 26 inches tall, with an opening about 16 inches across cut on a slant. It weighs about 22.9 lb empty.

What is the spiral texture and slanted opening?

A single continuous horizontal groove wraps the whole body, so it reads as one coil turning from base to rim, and the opening is cut on a gentle slant. It is one piece of molded fiberglass, not an applied texture.

What can I plant in it?

The belly is deep and wide, which suits a full mounding planting, a small multi-stem tree, or a single sculptural specimen that plays against the ribbed surface.

Does it come with drainage holes?

Not by default, so it can hold a liner or double as a cachepot. You can add drilled drainage on request; note a drilled planter is finished to order and non-returnable.

How heavy is it?

Fiberglass is light for the size: about 22.9 lb empty, so one person can move it before it is planted, though it is bulky enough that you will want a clear path.
