Shipping & Delivery

Made to order
Each planter is hand-finished when you order it. Allow 5 to 10 business days of production before your order ships.

Free ground shipping
This size ships free by ground within the contiguous 48 states. You will receive a tracking number by email the moment your order ships; delivery usually takes another 2 to 7 business days.

Returns
30 days from delivery, in new and unused condition in the original packaging, with a 30% restocking fee and return shipping at your cost.

If it arrives damaged
Inspect the shipment before you sign. If it arrives visibly damaged or not intact, you may refuse it. If you accept it, note the damage on the bill of lading or delivery receipt before signing — to the boxes, the planter, or the packing material. You are entitled to open each box and inspect the goods; if the driver will not wait, write on the paperwork that you could not check for concealed damage. Report it to us in writing within 2 business days of delivery at customerservice@sereneyards.com, with photos of the damage, the cartons and the packing material, and keep all packaging until the claim is resolved. Damage noted at delivery and reported this way is covered — contact us and we'll make it right, either by replacing the planter or refunding you. Damage not noted at the time of delivery is much harder to resolve, because the carrier claim depends on that record. Full details are in our Shipping Policy.

Return & Refund Policy

At Serene Yards, we want you to be happy with your purchase.

Return Eligibility
Items must be new, unused, and in original packaging within 30 days of delivery. Drilled-drainage planters are final sale, because drilling is done to order and cannot be undone. This does not affect your rights if the planter arrives damaged or defective.

How to Initiate a Return
Contact us first! Email customerservice@sereneyards.com or call 888.254.6088 to get a Return Authorization (RA) number. Returns without an RA will not be accepted.

Return Costs

  • A 30% restocking fee applies to change-of-mind returns.
  • The customer is responsible for return shipping costs on change-of-mind returns.
  • For returns due to our error (damaged, defective, or incorrect item), we cover return shipping and waive the restocking fee.

Refunds
Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 7 business days of us receiving and inspecting your return.

A Saigon twenty-four inches across has an opening of thirteen and a half. That gap between what it looks like and what it holds is the entire point of the shape.

The wall sweeps out from a narrow neck to a full belly and back to the base, so the planter reads at its exterior diameter from across a courtyard while the planting stays contained at the top. The opening runs a little over half the exterior width at every size. Our other tall round planters run four-fifths or more. Size the plant to the opening figure, not to the diameter on the label, or it will not go in.

What that buys is a particular relationship between pot and plant. A clipped standard, a slim multi-stem, a single sculptural specimen emerging from the neck: the planter is the object and the planting punctuates it. Replanting means lifting a nursery pot in and out rather than working soil at the rim, which is worth knowing before you buy rather than after. Non-porous, so it does not take up the water that expands on freezing, and hand-finished to order in the color you choose.

Saigon Tapered Round Planter in the studio

A tall urn that lifts a specimen.

Built to last

Every piece we carry is chosen to last, indoors or out, and look considered for years, not seasons.

Built to last

Inside or out

Non-porous fiberglass with a UV-resistant finish: it does not absorb the water that expands on freezing, so it holds its shape through winter and its color through summer.

Tall and tapered

A form that lifts

Wide at the rim and narrowing to a small base, the Saigon carries real height while looking light, as if the form lifts off the ground.

Finished to order

Your color, your space

Each Saigon is hand-finished in your chosen shade, so the color is specified to the space rather than chosen from what is in stock. The finish is an automotive-grade, UV-resistant paint system.

Finished in your color

Every planter is finished to order in the color you choose, then shipped to you.

Twenty standard finishes, hand-finished to order in the color you choose. Custom colors are available on request. On-screen color is a guide and can vary slightly from the finished paint.

Questions, answered

Can the Saigon be used indoors and outdoors?

Yes. It’s premium fiberglass, non-porous and UV-resistant, so it does not absorb the water that expands on freezing and does not fade in full sun.

Drainage is what decides it in practice: water left standing in an undrained planter through a freeze is the common failure, not the material.

What size should I choose?

Sizes are named by the diameter across the top: 14, 16, or 19 inches, standing 30, 36, and 42 inches tall. Each widens to a fuller shoulder just below the rim (about 17, 21, and 24 inches) and narrows to a small round base.

How is it tapered?

It opens wide at the rim, reaches its widest just below the top, then draws inward to a small rounded base, so the height reads as lift rather than mass.

What can I plant in it?

A single upright specimen suits it best, such as a slim tree, bamboo, or a tall grass. The deep belly holds root mass low; the openings are about 11.7, 14.2, and 16.3 inches across.

Does it come with drainage holes?

Not by default, so it can hold a liner or double as a cachepot. You can add drilled drainage on request; note a drilled planter is finished to order and non-returnable.

How heavy is it?

Fiberglass is light for the size: about 18.2 lb (14"), 24.5 lb (16"), and 32.4 lb (19"), easy for one person to move before it is planted.
