Shipping & Delivery

Made to order
Each planter is hand-finished when you order it. Allow 5 to 10 business days of production before your order ships.

Free ground shipping
This size ships free by ground within the contiguous 48 states. You will receive a tracking number by email the moment your order ships; delivery usually takes another 2 to 7 business days.

Returns
30 days from delivery, in new and unused condition in the original packaging, with a 30% restocking fee and return shipping at your cost.

If it arrives damaged
Inspect the shipment before you sign. If it arrives visibly damaged or not intact, you may refuse it. If you accept it, note the damage on the bill of lading or delivery receipt before signing — to the boxes, the planter, or the packing material. You are entitled to open each box and inspect the goods; if the driver will not wait, write on the paperwork that you could not check for concealed damage. Report it to us in writing within 2 business days of delivery at customerservice@sereneyards.com, with photos of the damage, the cartons and the packing material, and keep all packaging until the claim is resolved. Damage noted at delivery and reported this way is covered — contact us and we'll make it right, either by replacing the planter or refunding you. Damage not noted at the time of delivery is much harder to resolve, because the carrier claim depends on that record. Full details are in our Shipping Policy.

Return & Refund Policy

At Serene Yards, we want you to be happy with your purchase.

Return Eligibility
Items must be new, unused, and in original packaging within 30 days of delivery. Drilled-drainage planters are final sale, because drilling is done to order and cannot be undone. This does not affect your rights if the planter arrives damaged or defective.

How to Initiate a Return
Contact us first! Email customerservice@sereneyards.com or call 888.254.6088 to get a Return Authorization (RA) number. Returns without an RA will not be accepted.

Return Costs

  • A 30% restocking fee applies to change-of-mind returns.
  • The customer is responsible for return shipping costs on change-of-mind returns.
  • For returns due to our error (damaged, defective, or incorrect item), we cover return shipping and waive the restocking fee.

Refunds
Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 7 business days of us receiving and inspecting your return.

Eight inches square in section, and four of those eight are wall. The Salon's opening is a four-inch channel running the length of the box.

That rules out most planting and it is the point. This is not a container to fill, it is a line to draw: along a windowsill, a bar top, the spine of a long table, a threshold where a deeper box would be something to walk around. Herbs, succulents, compact bedding in a row of four-inch pots, eight to eleven of them depending on the length. Anything with a real root ball belongs in something else.

Three lengths, three to four feet, identical in section, so two of them end to end read as one continuous edge. At fourteen pounds empty in the shortest length it goes where you want it without help. The trade is water: a four-inch channel holds very little soil for its length and dries faster than a deep trough, so check it more often through summer. Non-porous, so it does not take up the water that expands on freezing, and hand-finished to order in the color you choose.

Salon Box Planter in the studio

A long, low line along a wall.

Built to last

Every piece we carry is chosen to last, indoors or out, and look considered for years, not seasons.

Built to last

Inside or out

Non-porous fiberglass with a UV-resistant finish: it does not absorb the water that expands on freezing, so it holds its shape through winter and its color through summer.

Long and low

A line, not a pot

Eight inches square in section and up to four feet long, the Salon draws a continuous horizontal edge where a round planter would only mark a point.

Finished to order

Your color, your space

Each Salon is hand-finished in your chosen shade, so the color is specified to the space rather than chosen from what is in stock. The finish is an automotive-grade, UV-resistant paint system.

Finished in your color

Every planter is finished to order in the color you choose, then shipped to you.

Twenty standard finishes, hand-finished to order in the color you choose. Custom colors are available on request. On-screen color is a guide and can vary slightly from the finished paint.

Questions, answered

Can the Salon be used indoors and outdoors?

Yes. It’s premium fiberglass, non-porous and UV-resistant, so it does not absorb the water that expands on freezing and does not fade in full sun.

Drainage is what decides it in practice: water left standing in an undrained planter through a freeze is the common failure, not the material.

What size should I choose?

All three are 8 inches wide and 8 inches tall; only the length changes: 36, 42, or 48 inches. The interior planting channel is about 4 inches wide and 7.8 inches deep in every size.

What can I plant in it?

The channel is narrow, so it suits herbs, trailing succulents, low grasses, and seasonal annuals planted in a row. It is not deep or wide enough for a shrub or a single large rootball.

Does it come with drainage holes?

Not by default, so it can hold a liner or a row of nursery pots. You can add drilled drainage on request; note a drilled planter is finished to order and non-returnable.

How heavy is it?

Fiberglass is light: about 12.3 lb (36"), 17.4 lb (42"), and 17.8 lb (48"), easy for one person to place on a rail or ledge before planting.

How long until it ships?

Each planter is finished to order in your chosen color and ships in about one to two weeks, with free ground shipping on every size.
