Shipping & Delivery

Made to order
Each planter is hand-finished when you order it. Allow 5 to 10 business days of production before your order ships.

Curbside freight delivery — $395
This size ships on a pallet by freight truck for a flat $395, free on orders over $2,000. The driver lowers it to the curb with a liftgate; plan for a second person to move it into place. The carrier will call to schedule a delivery window, so please be available.

Returns
14 days from delivery, unused and in the original packaging, with a 30% restocking fee. Refunded as Serene Yards store credit. Drilled and custom planters are final sale. Freight orders are final sale except where the planter arrives damaged or defective.

If it arrives damaged
Inspect the shipment before you sign. Note any damage on the bill of lading or delivery receipt before signing — to the boxes, the planter, or the packing material. A Jay Scotts delivery that arrives visibly damaged or not intact may also be refused outright. Do not refuse a Cosapots delivery: accept it, note the damage on the receipt and contact us, because a refused Cosapots shipment carries a 30% restocking fee plus round-trip shipping under the manufacturer's terms. You are entitled to open each box and inspect the goods; if the driver will not wait, write on the paperwork that you could not check for concealed damage. Report it to us in writing within 2 business days of delivery at customerservice@sereneyards.com, with photos of the damage, the cartons and the packing material, and keep all packaging until the claim is resolved. Damage noted at delivery and reported this way is covered — contact us and we'll make it right, either by replacing the planter or refunding you. Damage not noted at the time of delivery is much harder to resolve, because the carrier claim depends on that record. Full details are in our Shipping Policy.

Return & Refund Policy

Return Eligibility
Jay Scotts planters may be returned within 14 days of delivery, unused, uninstalled, and in the original box with all factory packing materials. Planters with drainage holes added and custom orders are final sale. This does not affect your rights if the planter arrives damaged or defective.

How to Start a Return
Contact us first. Email customerservice@sereneyards.com or call 888.254.6088 for a Return Authorization (RA) number. Returns without an RA cannot be accepted.

Return Costs

  • A 30% restocking fee applies to all authorized returns.
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable. Where shipping was free or discounted, the original shipping cost may be assessed.
  • You arrange and prepay return shipping.
  • For returns due to our error (damaged, defective, or incorrect item), we cover return shipping and waive the restocking fee.

Final Sale
Freight orders are final sale except where the planter arrives damaged or defective. Your shipping method is shown on every size before you order.

Refunds
Approved returns are refunded as Serene Yards store credit, issued within 7 business days of us receiving and inspecting your return.

Every Jay Scotts planter carries a three-year limited manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, which applies whether or not an item is returnable.

The Torino is the Antwerp with six more inches of height, and those six inches are worth more than they sound: interior depth goes from ten inches to sixteen.

That is the difference between planting you replace and planting that stays. Ten inches holds grasses and bedding. Sixteen holds a shrub with a root ball, a small multi-stem, an evergreen that has to get through a winter and come back. The footprint does not change, the interior width does not change, the number of nursery pots does not change. Only what can live in it changes.

Four lengths from three to six feet, twenty-four inches deep throughout. At eighteen inches the rim sits around seat height, so a run of them anchors the edge of a seating group without walling it in. The seventy-two is eighty-five pounds empty and a good deal more once filled, which makes placement a decision rather than an arrangement. Freight at every length. Non-porous, so it does not take up the water that expands on freezing, and hand-finished to order in the color you choose.

Torino Wide Rectangular Planter in the studio

Two sizes grouped, one planted with a clipped boxwood hedge

Built to last

Every piece we carry is chosen to last, indoors or out, and look considered for years, not seasons.

Built to last

Inside or out

Non-porous fiberglass with a UV-resistant finish: it does not absorb the water that expands on freezing, so it holds its shape through winter and its color through summer.

Low, wide, deep

A block, not a pot

A generous 24 inch deep, 18 inch tall footprint reads as a grounded architectural block, not a container.

Finished to order

Your color, your space

Each Torino is hand-finished in your chosen shade, so the color is specified to the space rather than chosen from what is in stock. The finish is an automotive-grade, UV-resistant paint system.

Finished in your color

Every planter is finished to order in the color you choose, then shipped to you.

Twenty standard finishes, hand-finished to order in the color you choose. Custom colors are available on request. On-screen color is a guide and can vary slightly from the finished paint.

Questions, answered

Can the Torino be used indoors and outdoors?

Yes. It is premium fiberglass, non-porous and UV-resistant, so it does not absorb the water that expands on freezing and does not fade in full sun.

Drainage is what decides it in practice: water left standing in an undrained planter through a freeze is the common failure, not the material.

How big is the Torino?

Four lengths: 36, 48, 60, or 72 inches, all 24 inches deep and 18 inches tall, with an opening about 20.6 inches deep.

What is the low wide shape best for?

It reads as a grounded architectural block, so it suits a wide bed, a long railing run, or a hedge planting.

What can I plant in it?

The wide, deep opening suits a full hedge, a row of shrubs, or a mounding seasonal planting. Use lightweight potting soil only.

Does it come with drainage holes?

Not by default, so it can hold a liner. You can add drilled drainage on request; note a drilled planter is finished to order and non-returnable.

How heavy is it?

Fiberglass is light for the size: about 33 to 66 lb empty depending on length, movable by two people before planting.
