The TrueFlame TFG30 Built-In Gas Griddle is a 30″ flat-top cooking station designed to drop into the same island as a TF or TFE grill — a permanent griddle for breakfast, smash burgers, hibachi, fajitas, and side-dish prep.

Best for outdoor kitchens that already include a grill and want a dedicated flat-top cooking surface integrated into the island rather than rolled in on a portable cart. 495 sq in of #304 stainless steel cooking surface, ½″ thick for thermal mass that holds and recovers heat evenly.

Plan the cutout from the manufacturer line drawings: ~28½″ wide × ~10⅜″ high × ~19⅞″ deep. Overall product dimensions: 30″ × ~10⅞″ × ~22½″. Side and rear clearance from non-combustible material: 1″ minimum at sides; combustible-material clearances are larger (16″–18″) — install in a masonry or fireproof surround. Front air inlet 1″ along the bottom of the control panel must remain unobstructed. Gas inlet: natural gas 4.0″ W.C. (regulator factory-set); propane 10.0″ W.C. (regulator factory-set); ½″ minimum supply pipe inside diameter. Total BTU demand: 36,000 BTU (two 18,000 BTU U-tube burners). Electrical: 120V outlet required for the transformer (powers LED bar + per-knob LEDs). What is the cooking surface area of the TrueFlame TFG30 griddle?

495 sq in. The cooking surface is ½″ thick #304 stainless steel, 30″ wide nominal, with two #304 stainless steel U-tube burners delivering 18,000 BTU each (36,000 BTU total). A Heat Zone Separator divides the surface into two independent temperature zones — useful for cooking eggs and bacon simultaneously, or running one zone hot for searing while the other holds tortillas warm. The plate thickness provides thermal mass that holds heat evenly and recovers quickly between additions.

Is the griddle lid required during cooking?

No. The stainless steel lid must be completely removed before lighting and during operation. The lid is a storage cover that protects the cooking surface when the griddle is not in use; it lifts off entirely for unobstructed cooking access. Re-install the lid only after the griddle has fully cooled.

How is the TFG30 different from a Blackstone griddle?

The TFG30 is a built-in unit designed to drop into a permanent outdoor kitchen island cutout, integrated next to a built-in grill. Blackstone griddles are typically portable cart-mounted units that roll out for use and back into storage. Does the TFG30 require an electrical outlet?
