TrueFlame TFE Built-In Gas Grills are the entry tier of the TrueFlame lineup — same #304 stainless steel construction, same 14,000 BTU per main burner, and the same Gold Standard Lifetime Warranty as the premium TF series at a lower price point.

Best for daytime grilling households that want the same cooking footprint as TF at the entry-tier price — or installs where running electrical service to the cutout is not feasible. Two sizes: TFE25 25″ (539 sq in, 3 main burners) and TFE32 32″ (716 sq in, 4 main burners). Each sells in natural gas and propane configurations.

Construction is #304 stainless steel throughout, with stainless tube main burners and Piezo with manual flash-tube backup ignition. No transformer, no LED package, no rear infrared burner — those are TF-tier features. Cutout dimensions match the matching TF size exactly: 23¼″ × 8¼″ × 20¾″ for TFE25, 30¾″ × 8¼″ × 20¾″ for TFE32.

Plan the cutout from the size-guide table: 23¼″ wide × 8¼″ high × 20¾″ deep for TFE25; 30¾″ × 8¼″ × 20¾″ for TFE32. Side and rear clearance scheme is LARGER than TF: 4″ from a non-combustible wall, 14″ from a protected combustible wall, 18″ from unprotected combustible. Overhead: 5 ft minimum from the cooking surface. Exhaust hood (if used): 1,200 CFM minimum (TF is 1,000 CFM). Gas: natural gas inlet 4.0″ W.C. (min 4.0″, max 7.0″); propane inlet 11″ W.C. (min 10″, max 14″); ½″ minimum supply pipe inside diameter. BTU demand: 3 main burners × 14,000 BTU on TFE25; 4 × 14,000 BTU on TFE32. No rear infrared burner on either size. Electrical: none — TFE installs without a 120V outlet at the cutout. Non-combustible enclosure required, with four 10 sq in vent openings totaling 40 sq in. What is the difference between TrueFlame TFE and TF?

Both tiers use #304 stainless steel construction, share Piezo & Manual Flash Tube ignition, deliver 14,000 BTU per main burner, and carry the same Gold Standard Lifetime Warranty. TFE is the entry tier — stainless tube main burners (vs cast stainless on TF), no rear infrared burner on any size (TF32 and TF40 include a 10,000 BTU rear burner), no transformer or LED control-panel package (TF has full LED + halogen interior), and a larger 4″ non-combustible clearance scheme (TF requires 2″). Cutout dimensions are identical at each shared size — the grills drop into the same rough opening. TFE is the right call for daytime grilling households or installs where running electrical service to the cutout isn't feasible.

Does a TrueFlame TFE grill need an electrical outlet?

No. The TFE entry tier omits the transformer, halogen interior, and the LED control-panel package that ship on TF. A TFE grill installs without 120V service at the cutout — one of the principal install advantages over the TF tier. If you add an electrical outlet later, the same cutout accepts a TF grill in place of the TFE; verify the surrounding clearance envelope, since TF requires 2″ from non-combustible walls vs 4″ on TFE.

Does the TFE include a rear infrared burner?

No. Neither the TFE25 nor the TFE32 includes a rear infrared back burner — that is a TF series feature found standard on the TF32 and TF40 only. If rotisserie cooking is part of your planning, choose TF32 or TF40 instead. The TFE cooking surface is identical to the matching TF size (539 sq in TFE25 = 539 sq in TF25; 716 sq in TFE32 = 716 sq in TF32) for direct grilling.
