If it arrives damaged
Inspect the shipment before you sign. Note any damage on the bill of lading or delivery receipt before signing — to the boxes, the planter, or the packing material. A Jay Scotts delivery that arrives visibly damaged or not intact may also be refused outright. Do not refuse a Cosapots delivery: accept it, note the damage on the receipt and contact us, because a refused Cosapots shipment carries a 30% restocking fee plus round-trip shipping under the manufacturer's terms. You are entitled to open each box and inspect the goods; if the driver will not wait, write on the paperwork that you could not check for concealed damage. Report it to us in writing within 2 business days of delivery at customerservice@sereneyards.com, with photos of the damage, the cartons and the packing material, and keep all packaging until the claim is resolved. Damage noted at delivery and reported this way is covered — contact us and we'll make it right, either by replacing the planter or refunding you. Damage not noted at the time of delivery is much harder to resolve, because the carrier claim depends on that record. Full details are in our Shipping Policy.

Curbside freight delivery — $395
This size ships on a pallet by freight truck for a flat $395, free on orders over $2,000. The driver lowers it to the curb with a liftgate; plan for a second person to move it into place. The carrier will call to schedule a delivery window, so please be available.

Return & Refund Policy
Return Eligibility
Jay Scotts planters may be returned within 14 days of delivery, unused, uninstalled, and in the original box with all factory packing materials. Planters with drainage holes added and custom orders are final sale. This does not affect your rights if the planter arrives damaged or defective.
How to Start a Return
Contact us first. Email customerservice@sereneyards.com or call 888.254.6088 for a Return Authorization (RA) number. Returns without an RA cannot be accepted.
Return Costs
- A 30% restocking fee applies to all authorized returns.
- Original shipping charges are non-refundable. Where shipping was free or discounted, the original shipping cost may be assessed.
- You arrange and prepay return shipping.
- For returns due to our error (damaged, defective, or incorrect item), we cover return shipping and waive the restocking fee.
Final Sale
Freight orders are final sale except where the planter arrives damaged or defective. Your shipping method is shown on every size before you order.
Refunds
Approved returns are refunded as Serene Yards store credit, issued within 7 business days of us receiving and inspecting your return.
Every Jay Scotts planter carries a three-year limited manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, which applies whether or not an item is returnable.

Most round planters are cones. The Wannsee is closer to a cylinder, and that changes what happens under the soil line.
Its interior diameter is about ninety percent of its exterior at every size, so the wall barely draws in and the volume at the bottom is nearly the volume at the top. Roots reaching down find the same room they had at the rim instead of running into a narrowing cone. It is why a twenty-two inch body swallows an eighteen inch nursery pot, a size most tapered planters of that diameter will not take, and why the fifty inch takes a forty.
Seven sizes run from fifteen to fifty inches across, and the proportion holds the whole way: height tracks diameter, so two of them at different sizes read as one family rather than two objects. What changes is what the planter is for. The fifteen and twenty-two inch sizes are balcony and roof terrace planters. From twenty-seven inches it is a ground-level body wide enough for a small multi-stem tree with underplanting around it.
Weight follows the same curve. At five and a half pounds empty the fifteen inch is the lightest Jay Scotts round planter we carry, which is what makes it a terrace planter; plant it or weight it before leaving it somewhere exposed. The fifty inch is a hundred and thirty-one pounds empty and is placed once. Non-porous throughout, so it does not take up the water that expands on freezing, and hand-finished to order in the color you choose.
