Scale is exactly where a strong color gets difficult, and it is why most large planters are grey, black or white. Pigment mixed through plastic has the furthest to fade on a saturated color, and a large surface shows that fading more plainly than a small one. Matte Cobalt Blue here is an automotive-grade paint system sprayed onto a fiberglass shell, so the color is a coating specified for weather rather than a dye trying to survive it.
Use it deliberately. Blue has no natural partner in foliage, so a large blue planter reads as an object rather than as a background, and one of them in a courtyard does more than a row along a wall. It holds up particularly well against white render, pale stone and weathered timber, and it fights warm brick.
