Saigon Tapered Round Planter in Matte Bright White

Tall White Planters

(38 products)

White gains something at height that it does not have low down: it catches light along an edge and holds a vertical line against almost any background. These are the fiberglass planters we carry that are offered in a tall size and finished in Matte Bright White or Gloss Bright White, hand-finished to order.

Matte or gloss, once height is involved

The matte and gloss decision changes when a planter is tall. On a low bowl the difference is a detail. On a column at eye level it is the whole character of the piece: Gloss Bright White picks up a highlight down one side and reads as an object, while Matte Bright White stays even from every angle and reads as part of the building. On a facade or a repeated run, matte is the usual specification for exactly that reason.

Height also decides how much of the planter a person actually sees. A tall white planter is viewed from the side at close range rather than looked down into, so the wall is what you are buying and the finish on that wall matters more than on any other shape. It is worth knowing that white shows what lands on it. Both finishes wipe clean with mild soap and water, and the manufacturer is explicit about what to avoid: no bleach, no power washing, no steel wool or abrasives.

A planter appears here when it is offered in a tall size and in one of our two whites. Several of these families also come in short sizes, so read the size table on the product page rather than assuming every option is tall.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose matte or gloss for a tall planter?

Matte holds one even tone from every angle, which suits a facade or a repeated run. Gloss picks up a highlight down one edge and reads brighter from a distance, which suits a single planter meant to be noticed.

Does a white planter stay clean outdoors?

White shows marks more readily than a dark finish. Both of ours wipe clean with mild soap and water. Avoid bleach, power washing, steel wool and abrasives, which is the manufacturer's guidance.

Does a pale planter run cooler?

A pale surface absorbs less sun than a dark one, so the root zone runs cooler in an exposed position. The material matters more than the colour: fiberglass does not conduct heat the way metal does.

How tall do these get?

The range runs to sixty inches and every size is stated on its product page. Height varies by family rather than by finish, so the same white is available across each model's full size range.
